Smarties® Mona Lisa
I’m not really sure what Leonardo Da Vinci would think of this version of his ever-popular painting, but it was sure fun to make.
I guess that it is not technically an illustration, but who says that you can’t draw with Smarties®?
This project, made possible by the very kind gift of over 100 lbs of candy from Nestlé Canada (thank you, Susan Wright) took over three months, lots of help from friends (particularly Andrew Wright), some Sleeman Cream Ale, some hot glue and over 16,000 Smarties®.
The result was over two metres wide by over three and a half metres in height (about 7′ x 12′) and was quite impressive. The last thing I heard was that it was on display in the cafeteria of the Nestlé Canada corporate headquarters in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
I wouldn’t mind seeing it again.
