Hiking La Cloche Silhouette

To the west stretched the immense Manitoulin Island in Georgian Bay, and to the northeast you can easily see the mining operations at Sudbury, well over 50 kilometres away. Most of the surrounding landscapes appear to be relatively unaffected by development of any kind.
After trying our best to commit the experience to memory, we took as many pictures as we could and hurried back down the trail as it was past 3:00pm and we still had several hours of tough hiking ahead of us. We planned to make camp at H47 before nightfall.
Motivated mostly by fear of hiking in the dark (which I would never attempt on this trail), we made reasonable time, arriving just after 6:00pm at our site. H47 is a singular spot, up high on a ridge beside a small lake overlooking Georgian Bay and the town of Killarney to the southwest.
